Assessment & Therapy

We believe every child has the potential to achieve great things! At The Rainbow Clinic we offer assessments and therapy to children of all ages and their families to help reach their goals.

OT Assessment

An initial OT assessment is typically a 90-minute appointment in the clinic environment with one of our therapists involving a range of assessments selected to fit your child’s need and goals. This will include administering standardised and non-standardised assessments and an interview with you and your child.

Your therapist will discuss your child’s strengths and areas for development and determine the best course of action for your family. This can include a comprehensive report outlining observations, results of assessments and goals for therapy.

Home Assessment

A home visit can be conducted to provide a detailed assessment of your child participating in the activity that they find particularly challenging at home.

This could be during eating and drinking, dressing, grooming etc. The Therapist will then devise a treatment plan enabling and helping your child to achieve their full functional potential.

We will provide strategies, advice and intervention programs where necessary to help your child participate in their daily occupations at home.

School Assessment

Occupational Therapists can help with a range of school-related tasks and are skilled at determining areas that may be impacting your child’s performance. This can include completing classroom and playground observations and providing strategies to help your child thrive in both their learning and social environment.

Individual & Group Therapy

Following an assessment, your therapist will determine if Occupational Therapy would benefit your child and recommend the frequency of sessions.

Individual therapy offers the unique opportunity to work one on one with your child to help them achieve their goals, develop their confidence and provide support to families. Most importantly our therapists thrive on providing a fun and safe environment for your child to learn and develop.

We offer a range of group therapy over the school holidays supporting your child to build social skills and develop confidence in a group setting. These group programs can include our fine motor group, handwriting/craft group, cooking, Lego, boxing, yoga and stand-up paddleboarding.
