Initial Assessment
We have an extensive range of Occupational Therapy Assessments both standardised and non-standardised.
An Occupational Therapist might be required to assess a child if they are having difficulties participating in activities of daily living, such as self-care skills, social skills, play skills or leisure activities.

Home Assessment and Intervention
A home visit can be conducted to provide a detailed assessment of your child participating in the activity that they find particularly challenging at home.
This could be during eating and drinking, dressing, grooming etc. The Therapist will then devise a treatment plan enabling and helping your child to achieve their full functional potential.
We will provide strategies, advice and intervention programs where necessary to help the child participate in their daily occupations at home.
School Assessment and Intervention
The Rainbow Clinic can offer an ‘on the road’ Therapy approach, which means we can come to your School, Preschool or Daycare facility. This is very important in your childs care to assess their function within the classroom or playground setting. It allows us to observe social and play skills within a group setting and identify any difficulties they may be having within this environment.
Often a child may perform differently in a one to one setting such as the clinic space when compared to the classroom setting. It is therefore important to have a holistic approach to their care and it enables liaison to occur between the Therapist and Education staff.
Joint goal setting and ideas can be designed to help improve your child’s function within the School environment.
Group Intervention
The Rainbow Clinic offers a number of options for group Therapy.
Therapy provided in a group environment is not only cost effective but allows children to work together in a safe social setting.
We currently provide a handwriting group and group preschool screening:
Training and Education
The Rainbow Clinic offers a number of training and education packages to suit your need. The training packages can be customised to suit your organisation’s need or School, Preschool setting or parent group settings.
Training and education can be on the following areas:
